The 2 Rax Orbital
Goal: This Starcraft 2 Terran build order neglects Vespene Gas and tech buildings in order to get mass Marines fast without delaying the Orbital Command. Since you are not building SCVs during the construction of the OC, you can add the 2nd Supply Depot after the 2nd Rax.
The 2 Rax Orbital Command is a versatile Starcraft 2 Terran build order but especially useful for 2v2 (3v3, 4v4) matches.
Execution:
- 10 Supply Depot
- 12 Barracks (1)
- @ 150 minerals – Barracks (2)
- @ 100% Barracks (1) – Orbital Command
- Pump mass Marines

The 111 Build
Goal: The 111 (1 Barrack, 1 Factory, 1 Starport) build establishes one of every unit-producing buildings for several reasons: First of all you can adapt quickly to any situation and produce the matching counter-units. Secondly a scouting enemy will have a hard time reading your build as you can make a transition really quickly (for example Hellions+Banshees or Hellions+Dropships or Hellions+Marauders). It’s versatility makes it also slightly inferior to highly specialized builds.
Execution:
- 10 Supply Depot
- 12 Barracks
- 13 Refinery
- 15 Orbital Command
- Marine + 2nd Refinery
- 16 Supply Depot
- Reactor/ Tech Lab on Barracks
- @ 100 Gas – Build Factory
- @ 100% Factory – Build Starport (and optional: switch Fact -> Rax for add-on)
To get the most out of the build, scout the enemy early enough to see his build order and unit composition ans act accordingly. The strength of this Starcraft 2 Terran build order lies in it’s versatility. Attack with one kind of units and at the same time produce the matching units to counter the enemies counter-units!
The 1 Rax Fact
Goal: Your goal is to get a fast Factory without hurting your economy. A great basic build that opens up a lot of option and tech routes.
Execution:
- 10 Supply Depot
- 11 Refinery
- 12 Barracks
- @ 100 gas – Factory
- Orbital Command
As you can see, this Starcraft 2 Terran build order starts with a Refinery first. This way your Fact will be extremely fast, but it also delays your Orbital Command slightly.

After finishing your OC you can make use of your Fact and adapt to the situation. Here are a few strategies that you can transition into with the fast Fact:
- Thor EMP Expand (vs. Protoss)
- 1 Port Banshee (vs. Protoss)
- 2 Port Banshee (vs. Protoss)
- Thor Drop Rush (vs. Zerg)
- Hellion to Banshee (vs. Zerg)
- Siege Expand (vs. Zerg and Terran)
It all comes down to what your opponent is working on and what you can get away with. If there’s already some air defense (2-3 Queens, mass Marines, Cannons, Stalker) it’s better to pass on Banshees and go right for Thors or an Expansion.
